Ministry of Education Announces Results of Lifelong Learning City Specialization Support Project Competition
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] A lifelong learning operation fund of 500 million KRW will be provided to 17 cities including Seongdong-gu in Seoul, Buk-gu in Busan, and Cheongju-si in Chungbuk.
The Ministry of Education announced the results of the Lifelong Learning City Specialization Support Project contest on the 18th.

Among a total of 167 lifelong learning cities, 61 cities participated in this contest. After preliminary screening by metropolitan and provincial governments and final screening by the National Institute for Lifelong Education review committee, a total of 17 cities were selected. The lifelong learning city project aims to activate lifelong learning specialized programs that meet the needs of local communities and residents. The selected lifelong learning cities developed various programs based on the lifelong learning demands of residents, including enhancing lifelong learning accessibility for marginalized residents such as persons with disabilities, and strengthening future competencies such as artificial intelligence (AI).
