View original image[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] A man in his 20s who indiscriminately assaulted a former classmate for about 10 minutes during a YouTube broadcast was arrested by the police.
The Uijeongbu Police Station in Gyeonggi announced on the 18th that they had arrested A (22) on charges of special assault.
A is accused of assaulting YouTuber B, a middle school classmate, for about 10 minutes with a frying pan, a liquor bottle, and a chair at a restaurant in Uijeongbu City on the 12th. B was diagnosed with injuries requiring two weeks of treatment.
It was investigated that A assaulted B during a 'drinking broadcast' in which A appeared on B's YouTube show, believing that B was ignoring him.
During the police investigation, A stated, "YouTube viewers were ordering us to 'hit each other because we will give donations,' so at first, we hit each other as a joke. But when I briefly left my seat, I saw a shot glass with wasabi in it and got angry because I thought (B) was ignoring me."
