National Beverage 'Bongbong' Launches Chewy Konjac Jelly
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Haitai htb, a subsidiary of LG Household & Health Care (CEO Cha Seok-yong), has launched ‘Bongbong Konjac Jelly,’ a low-calorie healthy snack from the popular fruit juice beverage brand ‘Bongbong.’
Launched in 1981, Bongbong is a long-standing brand loved by people of all ages. Recently, riding the wave of the newtro (a trend of enjoying retro in a new way) craze, it achieved the second highest cumulative sales volume of fruit juice beverages at major convenience stores.
Bongbong Konjac Jelly is a healthy snack that preserves the chewy texture and refreshing fruit flavors associated with Bongbong. Additionally, aloe extract has been added to further promote health.
Each serving contains a generous 150ml but is low in calories at only 8kcal. It is available in three flavors: peach, apple, and watermelon, and the product packaging features appetizing fruit images and a so-called ‘Ddaengddaengi’ design, capturing Bongbong’s unique newtro vibe.
A Haitai htb representative said, “As Bongbong Konjac Jelly carries the name of the nation’s fruit juice beverage Bongbong, it is a customized snack that combines taste, health, and low calories.” He added, “It is a beverage targeting millennials who carefully choose even a single product for themselves.”
