Donations of Health Masks, Kit Boxes, and Sewing and Cutting Skills Continue
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Moon Seok-jin) is warming the community with a series of mask donations to help neighbors overcome COVID-19 difficulties.
The district announced on the 18th that a health medical device company located in Gwangju-si, Gyeonggi-do recently donated 20,160 health masks to the district office.
The representative of this company, who wished to remain anonymous, said, "While looking for a place to donate masks, Seodaemun-gu, well known as a welfare city, came to mind," and requested that the masks be delivered to vulnerable residents.
In accordance with the donor's wishes, Seodaemun-gu plans to distribute the masks to disability activity supporters, caregivers at home-based elderly welfare facilities, emergency childcare workers at daycare centers, workers at disability organizations, and cleaning workers.
Additionally, the district will distribute 300 health masks donated by Woori Bank Seodaemun-gu Office Branch to welfare facilities, and 300 cotton masks donated by the clothing rental company "My Sweet Interview" to residents using the Seodaemun Jeongdameun Food Market.
"My Sweet Interview" has also expressed its intention to provide an additional 500 cotton masks to Seodaemun-gu. Far East Broadcasting has sponsored 50 kit boxes containing instant rice, ramen, hand sanitizer, masks, and more, which the district plans to deliver to 50 households under integrated case management.
Previously, volunteer activities making 1,000 masks by hand to share with neighbors in need were also carried out in Seodaemun-gu.
About 30 residents, including members of Seodaemun-gu volunteer groups, volunteer camps in each neighborhood, and volunteers from the Seodaemun Women's Center, donated their talents to make 1,000 masks.
The district delivered these masks and special filters to disability activity supporters and service users through the Seodaemun Disabled Welfare Center, Seodaemun Under the Sun Independent Living Center for the Disabled, and the Korean Association of the Visually Impaired Seodaemun Branch.
