[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) will distribute 1 million masks for free, including 900,000 masks, to 110,000 children aged 4 to 10, elderly, and disabled residents in the area from the 18th until the end of this month.
Due to the unprecedented April school reopening, the district will deliver 3 masks per child to approximately 29,000 children aged 4 to 10 without masks for going outside, sending them directly to their households, and will place 100,000 masks in welfare facilities.
Additionally, until the end of this month, about 800,000 masks will be distributed free of charge, 10 masks per person, to approximately 80,000 people including 71,944 elderly residents aged 65 and over who are excluded from the smartphone-based ‘mask queuing competition,’ 7,922 registered disabled persons in the area, and 373 emergency welfare support recipients.
Earlier, on the 9th and 10th, the district visited about 800 registered pregnant women at the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center and delivered 10 masks per person. Subsequently, masks were also provided free of charge to unregistered pregnant women, with a total of 979 recipients.
Unregistered pregnant women can receive masks by visiting the public health center with their ID and pregnancy confirmation certificate or maternal handbook.
