"I Will Yield to Those in Need"... Mapo-gu, Mask Sharing Campaign
Continuing the Sharing Campaign at Gongdeok Station, Daehyeong Station, Mapo-gu Office Station, and Ahyeon Station until April 3: Donate KF Masks and Exchange for Cloth Masks and Portable Hand Sanitizers
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yudonggyun) held a ‘Good Mask Sharing Volunteer’ campaign with volunteers at Gongdeok Station on Subway Line 6 on the 16th.
The ‘Good Mask Sharing Volunteer’ campaign is a sharing event where participants give up their extra health masks (KF) for those who really need them, such as medical staff and vulnerable groups, under the slogan “I will yield to those in need.”
The campaign proceeds by participants donating one health mask and receiving a cotton mask and portable hand sanitizer in exchange.
At the first campaign on the 16th, there was continuous participation from residents who wanted to donate their precious masks out of concern for frontline medical staff and vulnerable groups who urgently need health masks. The district volunteers promoted yielding health masks by exchanging the donated health masks for cotton masks and portable hand sanitizers and distributing them.
Mr. Lee (46), a resident of Gongdeok-dong, participated in the campaign and said, “I joined today’s campaign hoping to be a small hope for neighbors who are having difficulty purchasing masks.”
The district will continue the ‘Good Mask Sharing Volunteer’ campaign until April 3 at Gongdeok Station (Lines 5 and 6), Daehung Station, Mapo-gu Office Station, and Ahyeon Station.
To enhance the campaign’s effectiveness, the activity period, time, and location will be operated identically, so all five locations will hold the campaign simultaneously every Wednesday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Additionally, to ensure smooth campaign progress, pre-education related to campaign activities is being conducted for leader volunteers (such as dong camp leaders).
After the campaign period ends, the district plans to deliver the masks donated through the campaign to places in the community where health masks are urgently needed, such as vulnerable groups.
