[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] On the 17th at 2 PM, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the 'Eco-friendly Handmade Cotton Mask Delivery Ceremony by the Cotton Mask Volunteer Corps' held at the district office auditorium.
The district formed the 'Cotton Mask Volunteer Corps' starting from the 11th to overcome the health threats to residents caused by the mask shortage due to the spread of COVID-19.
The Cotton Mask Volunteer Corps is composed of pure volunteers including former sewing machine operators, laundry shop owners, university students, and people with disabilities. They produce 1,200 cotton masks daily on a rotating basis at the district office auditorium, two lifelong education centers, and the Mathematics Culture Center.
On this day, the lifelong education center's talent donation instructors and the mask volunteer corps held a delivery ceremony for the 6,000 cotton masks produced so far.
The masks produced will be distributed to each community service center.
