Preliminary Candidate Shin Jeong-hoon Encourages Athlete Lim Ae-ji on Her First Olympic Appearance in Women's Boxing
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Seon-gang] Shin Jeong-hoon, the Democratic Party of Korea preliminary candidate for the National Assembly in Naju·Hwasun, Jeonnam, met with Im Ae-ji (21, Korea National Sport University), the first Korean female boxer to advance to the Olympic main event, on the 17th and encouraged her by saying, "Congratulations on rewriting the history of Korean women's boxing."
On the same day, preliminary candidate Shin Jeong-hoon encouraged Im, along with Park Gu, director of Cheonsa Gymnasium, coach Park Ji-seon, and the athletes, and cheered, "We expect good results at the Olympics as well."
Meanwhile, Im Ae-ji, who is from Hwasun, graduated from Hwasun Middle School and Jeonnam Technical Science High School, is currently a third-year student at Korea National Sport University, and secured a spot in the Olympic main event by advancing to the semifinals of the women's featherweight (54~57kg) category at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Asia-Oceania regional qualifiers held in Amman, Jordan on the 9th.
