Wando-gun Delivers COVID-19 Relief Supplies to Sister City Cheonan

View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyungpil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 17th that it delivered seaweed products from Wando to Cheonan City, its sister city, to help overcome the COVID-19 crisis.
As of midnight on the 17th, Cheonan City reported 97 confirmed COVID-19 cases, the highest number among sister cities.
Accordingly, the county delivered seaweed juice products made from Wando seaweed, which boosts immunity and is good for respiratory diseases, as well as seaweed rice noodles to Cheonan City.
This consolation effort was supported by Wando Food (CEO Wi Yangcheon), a seaweed juice manufacturer, which donated 500 boxes of seaweed juice (worth approximately 25 million KRW).
Additionally, the county purchased 2,000 seaweed rice noodle products produced by Wando Badagadukhi (CEO Moon Kigyeong) at a price lower than the market price and delivered them together.
Shin Woochul, the governor of Wando-gun, said, “It is natural to share difficulties together in these challenging times. I hope our heartfelt support will be conveyed well and help overcome this crisis even a little.”
Meanwhile, Cheonan City and Wando-gun signed a sister city agreement in May 2007 and have continuously promoted 43 exchanges and cooperation projects between the two cities to date.

In particular, during the Jangbogo Seafood Festival held annually in Wando-gun, the Cheonan City Choir and Heungtaryeong Pungmul Troupe perform free concerts, providing various attractions to the residents.
