On the 16th episode of JTBC variety show 'Love of 7.7 Billion,' a story was introduced about a Korean girlfriend who could not accept her British boyfriend's request to break up because he was diagnosed with a rare disease.
After hearing the story, Kim Heechul sided with the boyfriend and said, "I don't know if this is the right analogy, but if the girlfriend is seen as our Super Junior members," applying his own situation.
Kim Heechul said, "I had a serious traffic accident 14 years ago and broke my left leg. I couldn't run anymore, but I still performed on stage and held concerts," and added, "About 6 to 7 years ago, my leg condition worsened, and when I went to the hospital, they told me I might not be able to use my leg in the future."
He continued, "I told the members, 'I don't think I can continue team activities anymore. My career as a dance singer is over,' and they said, 'What does it matter? You don't have to dance on stage. We can all overcome this together,'" recalling the moment.

Kim Heechul said, "I was very grateful to the members, but I didn't want to be a burden anymore. In a way, I am already in a state of having left (Super Junior)," adding to the sadness.
