"Mask Sales Start at 11 AM" KT Offers Free 'Pharmacy Call Connection Tone'
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] "This is a pharmacy. The public masks received today are sold out. Sales start at 11 a.m. on weekdays and are available to the first 125 customers."
To help pharmacies that faced disruptions due to calls inquiring about mask stock, KT is offering an automatic wired call connection tone service free of charge. On the 17th, KT announced that it will provide the small business exclusive wired call connection tone service, 'Ringo Biz Plus,' free of charge for three months to 23,000 pharmacies nationwide.
Since the five-day mask distribution system began on the 9th, pharmacists at pharmacies selling public masks had to repeat the same message over 200 times daily in response to mask inquiry calls. This measure aims to prevent such issues and improve pharmacy work efficiency.
Ringo Biz Plus is a service that plays comments such as business hours and location information instead of the usual call connection tone when customers call a store. Users can create unlimited self-produced audio clips.
Users select background music and enter a phrase within 200 characters, which is immediately reflected in the call connection tone. The pharmacies eligible for this free service are those using KT wired phones, registered as pharmacies in the 114 directory, and currently using the Ringo service.
Pharmacies newly applying for Ringo Biz Plus (4,400 KRW per month, including VAT) can also use the service free for three months. Applications are accepted from the 17th until the end of May, and regardless of the application date, service fees from March to May will be waived.
