Wemakeprice Sees Increase in Bulk Buyers of Daily Necessities and Food... Expands Benefits
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The number of consumers purchasing daily necessities and food items in bulk online at once is increasing. Wemakeprice announced on the 17th that an analysis of sales in February this year showed that the average payment amount per person per transaction rose by 19% compared to the same period last year. By category, living and kitchen goods (59%), food and health (34%), and baby and maternity products (26%) ranked highest in growth rate.
Additionally, during the promotions held on Wemakeprice throughout February, customers who used shopping cart coupons to receive discounts accounted for 24% of all purchasers, showing a frugal consumption pattern of filling a certain amount to get additional discounts. A Wemakeprice official stated, "For daily necessities and food items that are frequently used and require repeated purchases, buying in bulk through online shopping is advantageous," adding, "More customers are actively utilizing the characteristic of online shopping where the discount rate increases proportionally to the purchase amount."

Reflecting these consumer patterns, Wemakeprice opened the 'The The Ikseon' section last month. Data analysis from the two weeks immediately after opening, from February 28 to March 12, showed that bundle product sales increased by 30% compared to the first week. Accordingly, Wemakeprice enhanced the benefits of the section and renewed it as 'The The Ikseon Special Price.' When ordering bundle products, customers can receive discounts of about 30-40% compared to single item prices. An additional 10% discount is also offered for purchases over 20,000 KRW.
