Yangcheon-gu Distributes Hand Sanitizers for Elevators in Apartment Complexes
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) will distribute hand sanitizers for elevator use to 249 apartment complexes in the area on the 16th to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Elevators in apartment complexes are enclosed spaces used by many people, making them one of the vulnerable places for COVID-19 infection risk.
Amid growing concerns about community cluster infections, the district decided to provide hand sanitizers in elevators within apartment complexes to ease residents' worries and prevent the spread of infection in the community.
Accordingly, on the 16th, the district distributed 4,600 hand sanitizers to be placed in 2,014 elevators across 249 apartment complexes in the area, as regulated by the Apartment Housing Management Act.
Additionally, the district requested that each apartment complex post COVID-19 prevention guideline notices and conduct announcement broadcasts regarding the prevention rules. Individual apartment complexes are also strengthening their own disinfection activities within the complexes by regularly disinfecting multi-use areas such as restrooms and lobbies, participating in community infection prevention efforts.
