Moon Jun-yong "No Public Interest, Cowardly as Monthly Magazine Preview"... Criticism of Assemblywoman Choi Yeon-hye
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Moon Jun-yong, the son of President Moon Jae-in and a writer, strongly criticized a report about his exhibition contract and Rep. Choi Yeon-hye of the United Future Party on the 16th, saying, "How is she different from someone who makes 'jirasi'?"
On the same day, Moon, the artist, wrote on his Facebook, "I know well that my family is a bait product, but do you even write a preview like this?"
Earlier, a media outlet reported that Moon, who is active as a media artist, and his wife Jang Ji-eun had received four exhibition and production projects over two years from 2018 to 2019 from the Goyang Children's Museum.
According to the report, the total contract amount for the four projects was about 43 million won.
Regarding this, Moon said, "The source of the data was stated as Rep. Choi Yeon-hye. So, a member of the National Assembly gave the reporter presidential family data and told them to write an article," adding, "Choi Yeon-hye apparently used her authority as a lawmaker to extort this personal information from the Goyang Children's Museum, and it seems she thought it wouldn't make sense to reveal it herself."
He continued, "Since there is no public interest, they cowardly made it only usable as a monthly magazine preview," and criticized, "Is this why they harassed the museum staff for such a long time to release the data?"
The following is the full text of Moon Jun-yong’s Facebook post
Reporter, I know well that my family is a bait product, but now you even write previews like this? Why is that? You stated the source of the data as Rep. Choi Yeon-hye. So, a lawmaker gave the reporter the data and told them to write an article, right?
Choi Yeon-hye apparently extorted this personal information from the Goyang Children's Museum using her authority as a lawmaker, and it seems she thought it wouldn’t look right to reveal it herself. Since there is no public interest, they cowardly made it only usable as a monthly magazine preview. How is this different from people who make jirasi? Is this why they harassed the museum staff for such a long time to release the data? Reporter, lawmaker, bravo.
