Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education Selects 5 Specialized High Schools for Ministry of Education Innovation Support Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Jang Hwikuk) has selected five specialized high schools in Gwangju, including Seojin Girls' High School, for the Ministry of Education's Specialized High School Innovation Support Project.
According to the Gwangju Office of Education on the 16th, Seojin Girls' High School, Songwon Girls' Commercial High School, Jeonnam Technical High School, Gwangju Natural Science High School, and Gwangju Electronics Technical High School were selected for the Specialized High School Innovation Support Project.
The selected schools will receive 200 million KRW each in project funds from the Ministry of Education's special grants and the Office of Education's budget to conduct career experience education, on-site industrial training, and expert-invited team-teaching education.
In particular, a hands-on experience space that can be shared with local residents will be established within the school, enabling village education community programs.
Meanwhile, the Specialized High School Innovation Support Project is a program aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of specialized high schools by supporting their structural improvement and school innovation.
This project selects and supports schools facing difficulties such as employment rates, new student enrollment, and increasing dropout rates, focusing on schools where principals and staff have a strong will for innovation, with the goal of raising the brand value of specialized high schools.
Woo Jaehak, Director of Secondary Education at the Gwangju Office of Education, said, "Through the Specialized High School Innovation Support Project, schools will have the opportunity to set autonomous goals according to their conditions, such as new student enrollment, dropout prevention, and employment rate improvement, fostering voluntary innovation."
