Pay in Full This Month for a 7.5% Discount... Payment Due by the 31st
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 16th that it will implement the 'Annual Automobile Tax Lump-Sum Payment System' for automobile tax again in March, following January this year.
The automobile tax annual payment system, which allows prepayment of the current year's automobile tax, offers discounts based on the annual tax amount: 10% in January, 7.5% in March, 5% in June, and 2.5% in September.
In January this year, 371,688 vehicles used the automobile tax annual payment system. This means that one out of every two drivers in Gwangju paid their automobile tax through annual payment, receiving a total discount benefit of 11.6 billion KRW.
Citizens wishing to pay their automobile tax annually can apply by phone or visit the tax department of their local district office, or use Wetax or ARS from the 16th to the 31st.
Payments can be made conveniently using bankbooks, cash cards, or credit cards at ATMs of all banks nationwide, or through Wetax, ARS, and virtual accounts.
