Gwangju Dong-gu Selected for National Subsidy Contest for Cadastral Management
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Im Taek) announced on the 16th that it has been finally selected for the cadastral management national subsidy support contest project hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
This project involves scanning and converting into a database (DB) cadastral survey result maps and land movement resolution documents produced since 2005, classified as permanent preservation documents, and additionally building them into the computerized system.
With this contest selection, Dong-gu will receive a national subsidy of 9 million KRW for the computerized construction of cadastral preservation documents.
The district has been building and continuously promoting the computerization of cadastral preservation documents since 2003 to resolve information loss problems caused by wear, damage, and discoloration of documents closely related to residents' property rights, and to provide prompt and accurate administrative services.
In the future, the computerization project will be carried out annually for permanently recorded materials that continue to be produced.

Im Taek, Mayor of Dong-gu, said, “With the computerized construction of cadastral preservation documents, related land movement documents can be viewed at once just by searching the lot number,” and added, “It is expected to greatly contribute to providing high-quality civil services to residents through efficient cadastral work processing.”
