President Moon's Approval Rating at 47.2%... Democratic Party 41.5% · United Party 32.1% [Realmeter]
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] A public opinion poll revealed that President Moon Jae-in's approval rating for his administration has slightly declined, widening the gap with negative evaluations once again.
According to Realmeter, which conducted the survey commissioned by YTN from the 9th to the 13th, the positive evaluation of President Moon's administration dropped by 0.7 percentage points from the previous week's aggregate to 47.2%, announced on the 16th. Negative evaluations rose by 0.4 percentage points to 49.1%. The gap between positive and negative evaluations stands at 1.9 percentage points.
By region, Gyeonggi-Incheon (down 3.4%p to 51.2%) saw a relatively large decline of 3.4 percentage points, and by age group, the core support base in their 30s (46.2%) experienced a significant drop of 8.4 percentage points compared to the previous week.
The decline in approval was most noticeable during the early week when the mask rationing system was first implemented, but recovery after Wednesday (the 11th) meant the overall change in approval was not significant.
In party support, the Democratic Party recorded 41.5%, down 0.2 percentage points from the previous week. The United Future Party rose by 0.9 percentage points to 32.1%.
The Justice Party fell by 0.6 percentage points to 4.3%, and the People’s Party dropped by 0.8 percentage points to 3.9%. Following them were Our Republican Party at 2.4%, the Minsheng Party at 2.1%, and the Minjung Party at 1.2%.
In the 21st general election proportional representation party voting intention survey, the Democratic Party saw an increase of 1.1 percentage points to 37.7%. The Future Korea Party rose by 0.5 percentage points to 29.2%. The Justice Party and the People’s Party were at 7.2% and 5.4%, respectively, while other parties were below 3%.
