Yongsan-gu, Production and Distribution of Welfare Information Guidebook
Addressing 17 Areas Including National Basic Livelihood Security and Seoul-type Basic Livelihood Security for Prompt and Appropriate Social Security Benefits and Services
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yongsan-gu (Mayor Seongjanghyun) produced and distributed 300 copies of a welfare information handbook on the 13th to help welfare staff easily understand welfare policy projects.
This is to provide faster and more appropriate social security benefits and services to welfare recipients with diverse needs.
The handbook covers 17 areas including ▲National Basic Livelihood Security ▲Seoul-type Basic Livelihood Security ▲Support for the Near-Poor Class ▲Emergency Welfare Support ▲Elderly Welfare ▲Low-Income Single-Parent Families and Women’s Welfare ▲Infant Welfare ▲Child and Youth Welfare ▲Disabled Welfare ▲Housing Welfare ▲Support for Vulnerable Groups ▲Integrated Case Management ▲Asset Formation Support ▲Education Office Support ▲Health Support ▲Other Medical Benefits ▲National Veterans Projects.
It contains all welfare projects that local governments can undertake. The selection criteria for beneficiaries, work processing procedures, and other reference information for each project are neatly organized. The district distributed the handbook to welfare-related departments, 16 community service centers, and related social welfare organizations in the area.
A district official said, “Since the beneficiary selection criteria differ by project, it is often confusing. Having a handbook that extracts only the core information from various manuals allows easy confirmation of the content.”
Recently, as social welfare work has rapidly increased, cases of general administrative officials handling welfare tasks have also risen. The district expects the handbook to be very helpful to employees who are taking on welfare duties for the first time.
In addition, this year the district started a text notification service for the integrated welfare benefit investigation process. It guides social security benefit applicants to understand the integrated investigation process at a glance. The text message includes the progress, duration, and the name and contact information of the responsible official.
