[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] The Blue House announced that it requested President Trump of the United States to convey President Moon Jae-in's proposal for a G20 leaders' video conference to overcome the 'novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19)' crisis.
On the 15th, the Blue House stated, "Communication to overcome COVID-19 is ongoing through various channels between Korea and the U.S., and during the call between National Security Office Director Chung Eui-yong and U.S. National Security Advisor O'Brien on the morning of the 15th, they also discussed matters related to COVID-19."
In particular, the Blue House explained, "On the 13th, during the Korea-France leaders' phone call, President Moon introduced his proposal for a G-20 leaders' video conference to overcome the COVID-19 crisis and requested that President Moon's proposal be conveyed to President Trump."
The Blue House added, "The U.S. side highly evaluated our efficient and prompt response measures, and agreed to closely cooperate by sharing related information such as quarantine responses between Korea and the U.S."
Furthermore, the Blue House stated, "The government will cooperate with other countries to ensure that the G-20 leaders' video conference can be held as proposed by President Moon Jae-in."

The Blue House explained, "At the G-20 leaders' video conference, we expect to share Korea's COVID-19 quarantine and response experiences, clinical results, and related information, as well as discuss ways to overcome the global economic crisis caused by COVID-19. In addition, the government is promoting a video conference to discuss joint COVID-19 responses with the ASEAN+3 leaders' countries."
