Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch Employee Confirmed with COVID-19... Closed on the 15th
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] Lotte Department Store Busan Main Branch announced that it will temporarily close all floors on the 15th after an employee under self-quarantine tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The employee works in the 'Shootjang,' the waste disposal facility located on the basement level 2 of the Busan Main Branch.
According to the department store, the employee had not been able to come to work for the past two days and was confirmed positive around noon on the 14th. The department store immediately closed the Shootjang. After reviewing CCTV footage and checking the employee's movements within the store together with health authorities, it was confirmed that there was no contact with store employees or customers.
However, considering the nature of the Shootjang where 10 people work in shifts, tests were conducted on them. As a result, one person was additionally confirmed positive around 7:50 PM on the 14th, one person is awaiting test results, and the remaining seven tested negative.

A representative of the Busan Main Branch said, "After consulting with health authorities, we received the opinion that there is no problem with continuing operations," but added, "For customer safety and other reasons, we will conduct emergency disinfection on the 15th and then decide whether to resume business."
