Seoul City District Mayors' Council Holds Emergency Video Meeting on the 12th to Discuss Mask Supply Measures
Kim Young-jong, Mayor of Jongno-gu and Chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan District Mayors' Council, expressed his intention to actively promote the campaign for wearing cloth masks.

In response, the Seoul Council of District Mayors (Chairman Kim Young-jong, Mayor of Jongno-gu) held an emergency meeting (via video conference) on the 12th, attended by the mayors of all 25 autonomous districts of Seoul, to strengthen the disaster preparedness cooperation system and to establish mask supply measures.
The main agenda items included ▲prior consultation on the disclosure of COVID-19 confirmed patients' movement routes ▲participation in the public mask concession campaign through the production and exchange donation of cloth masks.
The disclosure of confirmed patients' movement routes will be carried out through prior cooperation among autonomous districts in accordance with the guidelines of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Furthermore, as the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases increases, the demand for medical masks has surged while supply remains insufficient. According to the revised usage guidelines from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, cloth masks have been announced to have some effectiveness in preventing infectious diseases. Therefore, public officials have resolved to take the lead and participate in the cloth mask-wearing campaign.
