[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Jeonbuk Province announced on the 13th that it will invest 2.5 billion KRW together with cities and counties to actively promote the ‘2020 Hope House Repair Project for Low-Income Families’ targeting 625 households.
This project is a livelihood stabilization policy initiative that started for the first time nationwide. Since breaking ground in 2006, it has spent 80.55 billion KRW by 2019 to repair a total of 24,612 aging houses, delivering warm neighborly love and hope to struggling families.
This year as well, applications will be accepted from cities and counties to renovate and repair 625 aging houses so that vulnerable neighbors can live stable lives in comfortable residential environments.
The project targets dilapidated houses of basic livelihood security recipients, lower-income groups, disabled persons, and elderly living alone, focusing on housing stability and energy efficiency within a maximum budget of 4 million KRW per household for roof and bathroom improvements, kitchen upgrades, boiler repairs, window replacements, wallpaper and flooring, and electrical work. Repairs and maintenance are planned to be completed before the winter season.
