[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The first 2020 elementary, middle, and high school equivalency exams have been postponed by one month.
The Ministry of Education and the 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education announced on the 13th that the exam date has been postponed from April 11 to May 9.
Changes to the exam schedule will be posted on each education office's website and notified via text message.
This exam date change was made in response to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), considering the protection of learning rights for students wishing to advance to higher education.
Online registration and printing of exam admission tickets will be available from April 24. Previous applications remain valid, and examinees will take the exam at the test site they selected during registration.
Pass/fail results can be checked on June 2 through each education office's website.

The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education stated, "The guidelines for examinees will include restrictions on those subject to COVID-19 prevention measures and safety rules," and urged, "Examinees must be sure to check these."
