Electric Safety Corporation Announces 'Electric Safety Management Merit Award' Contest... Applications Accepted Until the 20th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Electrical Safety Corporation is conducting a call for nominations for the 'Electrical Safety Management Meritorious Person' until the 20th of next month.
Now in its 23rd year, the Electrical Safety Management Meritorious Person nomination event aims to discover individuals or organizations that have contributed to raising public awareness of electrical safety and preventing electrical accidents.
The award targets cover both the private and public sectors. It recognizes individuals or organizations that have contributed to electrical safety management and institutional establishment, as well as those involved in electrical equipment design, construction, and supervision work, and those who have contributed to accident prevention through the development and distribution of safety technologies or excellent products.
Additionally, individuals and organizations that have contributed to improving and promoting safety management technologies for renewable energy, electrical safety promotion and education, and campaign activities are also eligible for recommendation.
The evaluation of nominees' achievements prioritizes contributions made in the past five years. For orders and medals, achievements over 10 to 15 years are required; presidential and prime minister commendations require at least five years of contributions; and ministerial commendations require at least three years. Anyone who is a citizen of the Republic of Korea, except the nominee themselves, can make a recommendation.
The nominated candidates will be finalized after review by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's merit review committee. For government awards at the level of prime minister or higher, the candidates' achievements are submitted to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for verification of facts and eligibility before the award is decided.
Recommendation letters can be submitted by mail to the corporation's headquarters or regional offices nationwide, or can be delivered in person. The deadline is April 20, and the award ceremony for the meritorious persons will be held at the 'Korea Electrical Safety Awards' in September.
