Gwangju City’s ‘Gwangju-type Community Integrated Care’ Project Contest
Applications Accepted Until the 20th for Four Categories: Elderly, Disabled, Mental Illness Patients, and Homeless
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 12th that it will hold a pilot project contest targeting autonomous districts to discover the ‘Gwangju-type Community Care’ model.
‘Community Care’ is promoted to support local residents in need of care, such as the elderly and disabled, to enjoy services tailored to their individual needs and live together with the community in their own neighborhoods.
In particular, it is a community-led social service policy that integrally secures housing support, healthcare, nursing and care, and independent living support.
The project areas include ▲elderly ▲disabled ▲mental illness patients ▲homeless people. Autonomous districts wishing to participate in the project can select one of the target groups and submit an application form and project plan to the Gwangju Social Welfare Division from the 16th to the 20th.
Gwangju plans to comprehensively review the completeness of the project plan, feasibility, and plans for utilizing local resources, and select 1 to 2 autonomous districts with project capacity and willingness by the 30th. Selected districts will receive 200 million KRW in city funds.
In this regard, Seo-gu, Gwangju, was selected for the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s public contest last year and is promoting the ‘Community Care Leading Project.’
Gwangju expects synergy through the linkage between the project implemented in Seo-gu and this contest project, discovering a unique integrated care model exclusive to Gwangju.
