Kyobo Life Insurance Awards Hope Dasom Scholarships to Over 70 University Students
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Kyobo Life Insurance announced on the 12th that it has awarded the Hope Dasom Scholarship to about 70 college students, including those from orphanages and low-income families who are new university entrants.
Kyobo Life Insurance, together with the Kyobo Education Foundation, has been running the Hope Dasom Scholarship program since 2003. Selected freshmen receive tuition support until graduation, and students with excellent academic performance are also awarded separate merit scholarships.
This year, to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), scholarships will be delivered individually to recipients without a formal certificate awarding ceremony.
Kyobo Life Insurance has also established the Hope Dasom online community to facilitate active exchanges between current students and alumni. They share academic and career-related information, participate in offline meetings, and attend annual summer and winter camps, gaining various cultural experiences and volunteer opportunities.
A total of 378 scholarship recipients have been produced through the Hope Dasom Scholarship program, of whom about 250 have graduated and grown into members of society.
