3 More COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Daejeon Including Family of Large Corporation Researcher (Comprehensive)
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Three new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Daejeon. The newly confirmed cases are family members of existing confirmed patients.
According to Daejeon City on the 12th, a mother and daughter in their 20s and 50s living in Jeonmin-dong, Yuseong-gu tested positive for COVID-19. They are family members of a researcher (53, Seosan case number 8) working at Hanwha Total in Daesan Industrial Complex, Seosan, Chungnam.
The researcher is confirmed to have mainly lived in Seosan during weekdays and spent weekends with family in Daejeon.
The researcher also spent time with family in Daejeon last weekend, and considering this situation, health authorities conducted COVID-19 tests on the family members.
The remaining one case is an elderly man in his 80s, confirmed to be the husband of a 79-year-old woman who was diagnosed positive the day before in Goejeong-dong, Seo-gu.
The city explained that they secured a statement that the couple, their children, and grandchildren?a total of nine people?recently had dinner together, and as a result of testing, the husband was confirmed positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, with three additional family members of existing confirmed patients testing positive, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Daejeon has increased to 22.
