Prosecutors Confirm Additional 154 Missing Shincheonji Facilities Under Investigation

According to the legal community on the 12th, the Criminal Division 6 of Suwon District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Park Seung-dae) discovered that there are 154 more facilities in addition to the list of addresses of about 1,900 churches and affiliated institutions submitted by the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, which were received from Shincheonji.
Shincheonji had previously filtered and submitted a list of about 1,900 addresses to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters, but the prosecution is investigating based on media reports and other sources indicating that there are newly revealed Shincheonji-related facilities from local government investigations, suggesting that the number of Shincheonji gathering places is greater than previously known.
However, it is known that among the 154 additional gathering places identified by the prosecution, small-scale facilities such as private homes or cafes, so-called "Bogeumbang" (Gospel Rooms), are also included, so the possibility of simple omission cannot be ruled out.
The prosecution is closely examining whether Shincheonji deliberately omitted some facilities when submitting the data.

Meanwhile, the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office is investigating a case in which the National Shincheonji Victims Solidarity filed a complaint on the 27th of last month against Chairman Lee Man-hee for violating the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act and embezzlement and breach of trust under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes.
