View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] As new coronavirus infections (COVID-19) continue to occur nationwide, it has been identified that 8 out of 10 confirmed domestic cases are related to cluster outbreaks.
Jung Eun-kyung, head of the Central Disease Control Headquarters, said at a regular briefing held on the 11th at the Osong Disease Control Headquarters in Chungbuk, "Nationwide, 80.1% have been confirmed to be associated with cluster outbreaks," adding, "Among these, 60.9% are analyzed to be related to Shincheonji."
The remaining 19.9% are sporadic cases or are under investigation and classification.
Cluster outbreaks have been found to occur frequently in group facilities such as medical institutions and social welfare facilities. Head Jung explained, "Medical institutions have the highest number with 20 cases, followed by social welfare facilities, religious facilities, workplaces, and multi-use facilities."

She added, "In particular, since the possibility of transmission increases when close contact occurs in enclosed multi-level spaces, workplaces or facilities with such environments are urged to actively improve work patterns and environments to block the spread of COVID-19."
