"Premium Coffee Popularization" GS25, Industry's First to Sell Starbucks Capsules
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] GS Retail announced on the 11th that GS25, a convenience store operated by GS Retail, will sell Starbucks capsule coffee for the first time in the convenience store industry.
Starbucks coffee capsules have strict operating conditions due to their high brand recognition among customers, but GS25 was recognized for its excellent store operation status and infrastructure, leading to the decision to introduce them for the first time in the convenience store industry.
The products sold are the two most popular among the existing 16 types: House Blend and Espresso. Dolce Gusto 2 types (12 capsules) and Nespresso 2 types (10 capsules) are priced at 8,900 KRW and 8,700 KRW respectively.
GS25 expects these to be popular among home cafe enthusiasts, mothers with children, and students with budget constraints, as the popularity of brewed coffee increases.
Meanwhile, GS25, which provides various lifestyle services, plans to continuously evolve from simply selling coffee to expanding its product offerings into a lifestyle coffee platform.
