This support project involves delivering healthy handmade lunchboxes to medical staff who have been working overtime and overnight shifts for over a month at key hospitals in Daegu, the area most severely affected by COVID-19. The support targets 250 people at Daegu Medical Center and 150 people at Keimyung University Daegu Dongsan Hospital, totaling 400 people. Woori Financial plans to provide lunchboxes daily until the COVID-19 situation stabilizes.
Son Tae-seung, Chairman of Woori Financial Group and CEO of Woori Bank, said, "We prepared lunchboxes with respect and gratitude for the dedication of medical staff who are tirelessly fulfilling their duties day and night," adding, "Woori Financial will continue to mobilize all group capabilities to support everyone struggling at the COVID-19 affected sites without hesitation."
Woori Card is also providing emergency food supplies to vulnerable groups in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, who are facing difficulties as local children's centers and welfare centers, which previously received free meal support, have temporarily suspended operations due to the spread of COVID-19. These supplies were delivered to the Comprehensive Support Center for the Elderly Living Alone under the Ministry of Health and Welfare and will be provided to 200 vulnerable households in the area.
