View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Mapo-gu (District Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) is operating the Comprehensive Civil Service Office under a strengthened response system to provide safe administrative civil services for visitors, as concerns among residents have grown due to the prolonged spread of COVID-19.
First, the district has temporarily suspended the operation of the information desk at the Comprehensive Civil Service Office on the 2nd floor of Mapo-gu Office, which is frequented by many people.
In response, through ▲walking guides by senior staff ▲upgraded civil service kiosks ▲and a “consultation desk for anything,” the district is carefully managing civil service guidance and public service to ensure visitors do not experience inconvenience due to the suspension of the information desk.
Team leaders from the Civil Service Passport Division of Mapo-gu serve as guides in the Comprehensive Civil Service Office, providing assistance in directing visitors to the appropriate service counters according to their visit purpose. This walking guide replaces the role of the previous volunteer information desk staff to prevent any gaps in civil service.
Additionally, colored guiding lines have been installed on the floor of the Comprehensive Civil Service Office, differentiated by service type, to ensure that visitor service is not neglected amid the recent COVID-19 situation where responses might otherwise be insufficient.
Along with this, the district is actively promoting the practice of “social distancing” to prevent infection among district employees who handle administrative tasks for residents.
First, the operation method of the in-house cafeteria, where employees gather simultaneously, has been changed. Lunchtime has been divided into three slots, with usage times allocated by department to allow sequential use, preventing crowding. The “single-line dining” method has been implemented, where employees face the same direction and maintain distance while eating, avoiding face-to-face seating.
Furthermore, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the district has implemented measures such as ▲mandatory mask-wearing when entering and working in the office ▲entry through automatic doors to reduce hand contact ▲provision of hand sanitizers in the office and elevators ▲staggered commuting hours for employees to ease public transportation congestion ▲and encouragement of remote work for high-risk employees such as pregnant or childcare public officials and those with chronic illnesses.
