Hwasun-gun Supports Farmers with Five Types of Beneficial Microorganisms During Farming Season
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 9th that it will supply five types of beneficial microorganisms including Bacillus subtilis, yeast, lactic acid bacteria, photosynthetic bacteria, and chlorella in preparation for the farming season.
Beneficial microorganisms are effective in decomposing various organic materials to provide nutrients to animals and plants and in inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria.
Accordingly, beneficial microorganisms play a significant role in realizing eco-friendly high value-added agriculture by increasing the productivity of eco-friendly crops and livestock, reducing management costs, and minimizing the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
Previously, the county produced and supplied a total of 285 tons of beneficial microorganisms to 4,839 farms last year, receiving great responses.
In response to the increasing demand for beneficial microorganisms, the county plans to expand the scale of the eco-friendly microorganism cultivation room (facility expansion) to strengthen the production base for agricultural microorganisms.
