The Ministry of Justice stated, "Recently, cases of violating self-quarantine measures for suspected or confirmed COVID-19 patients have been frequent, raising public concern," and added, "We plan to strictly impose criminal penalties on those who violate measures imposed under the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act."
