Gwangju Nam-gu 'Small Library Revitalization Support Project' Promotion
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 9th that it will promote the ‘Small Library Revitalization Support Project’ targeting small libraries located within the district to activate village-level small libraries.
The application period for this support project will run until the 23rd, and the eligible applicants are 70 small libraries registered within Nam-gu as of that date.
Through the public contest, Nam-gu plans to select a total of 32 small libraries across various categories including newly supported small libraries, village community participatory small libraries, hub-type and specialized small libraries, and general small libraries, and provide support for book purchase costs as well as operating expenses.
The support amount per category ranges from a minimum of 3 million KRW to a maximum of 10 million KRW.
However, for this support project, since 10% of the support budget must be self-funded, small libraries without their own operating budget, libraries that do not meet the registration and operation standards for small libraries, and libraries that did not participate in the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism’s survey are excluded from the support target.
