Dobong-gu Supports Apartment Complexes with Improvements to Aging Electrical Facilities and More

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) is implementing the ‘2020 Apartment Complex Support Project’ to improve the common facilities of aging apartments in order to create a safe and livable environment for residents.

The application target is apartment complexes with 30 or more households in Dobong-gu.

The support fund covers 50-60% of the construction cost, with a maximum of 40 million KRW per complex. The support amount is determined through the review by the ‘Apartment Complex Review Committee.’

Last year, the district supported construction costs for 36 complexes with a budget of about 370 million KRW, and this year secured a budget of 400 million KRW for the support project.

In particular, this year’s apartment complex support project will focus on ‘improving aging electrical facilities in apartment complexes’ to prevent resident damage caused by failures and overloads of old electrical equipment, considering the inconvenience caused by the apartment blackout incident last summer.

The application period is until April 3, and applications can be submitted by visiting after phone inquiry at the Housing Division (☎2091-3504). The supported complexes will be finally selected through the review of a committee composed of experts in each field. Selected complexes can apply for support funds after selecting contractors and signing construction contracts.

Additionally, the district will provide guidance on the transformer replacement support project by Korea Electric Power Corporation.
