Prime Minister Jeong: "I Will Take the Lead in Using Cloth Masks Starting with Myself"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun conducted an on-site inspection of the management of donated goods for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Daegu area.
On the afternoon of the 8th, Prime Minister Chung visited Daegu Stadium to check the status of donated goods arriving from all over the country and overseas and to inspect the distribution situation.
As of the 6th, a total of 132.83 billion won in donations had been collected. A total of 6.19 million donated items, including medicines and daily necessities, had been received.
Prime Minister Chung expressed gratitude, saying, "We thank everyone at home and abroad who have extended their support to Daegu with daily necessities and other items," and emphasized, "With these warm hearts shining through, Daegu will be able to overcome COVID-19."
He also did not hesitate to encourage Red Cross members and neighborhood leaders volunteering on site. He said, "I am confident that because of your volunteering and support, we will be able to achieve a swift victory in the fight against COVID-19." He added, "Let's all gather a little more strength together."
Earlier, Prime Minister Chung had announced in a public address that he would take the lead in using cloth masks instead of disposable ones.
