Daegu Mayor Issues Administrative Order for Shincheonji Members to Undergo Diagnostic Testing Today (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] On the 7th, Kwon Young-jin, Mayor of Daegu, issued an administrative order for members of the Shincheonji Daegu Church who have not undergone testing for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) to get tested within the day.
At the regular briefing that day, Mayor Kwon explained, "Among the 709 Shincheonji members tested yesterday, 236 were confirmed positive, resulting in a positivity rate of 33.3%," adding, "This is why self-quarantine for Shincheonji members is extended and why testing must be completed."

He warned, "Even those who have been tested must observe a minimum two-day self-quarantine until their test results are out," and cautioned, "If automatic quarantine release occurs without testing due to no symptoms two weeks after the last gathering, the possibility of community infection is extremely high."
