SK Telecom Extends Work-from-Home Period by One Week Due to COVID-19 Impact
[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] SK Telecom is extending its company-wide work-from-home system by one week. This measure comes as the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) shows little sign of subsiding.
According to SK Telecom on the 6th, the company decided to extend the work-from-home period, originally scheduled until the 8th of this month, until the 15th. This is the second extension. SK Telecom has been maintaining a proactive work-from-home system since the 24th of last month, continuing it for three weeks.
Instead, SK Telecom plans to continue normal work without disruption by utilizing smart work infrastructure such as cloud PCs and T Telephone group calls. An SK Telecom official explained, "We believe the COVID-19 concerns are not at a stage where we can feel assured," adding, "Essential personnel are coming to work."

Meanwhile, KT is also extending its rotating work-from-home system by one week. KT is conducting work-from-home alternately by half of each department and team. LG Uplus has been encouraging voluntary work-from-home up to a maximum of 50% as needed since the beginning of this month.
