Pence: "No Additional Measures Recommended Yet Regarding Han and Yi"

[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] Mike Pence, Vice President of the United States, said on the 4th (local time) that health authorities have not recommended additional measures for countries such as Korea, where the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has spread, but they are monitoring the situation closely.
At the regular briefing of the COVID-19 task force on the same day, Vice President Pence was asked, "Are you considering imposing additional measures related to travel restrictions on Italy and Korea?" He replied, "At this point, they (health authorities) are not recommending to President Trump that additional travel advisories or restrictions be imposed."
He added, "However, we are watching the relevant data and (outbreak) cases," suggesting the possibility of additional measures depending on future developments.

Vice President Pence also expressed gratitude to the airline partners cooperating in conducting pre-boarding medical screenings for all passengers on direct flights to the United States from Korea and Italy, as well as to the governments of Korea and Italy.
