40s Male Who Helped Hit-and-Run Driver Tested Positive for Drugs
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] A man in his 40s who assisted a driver fleeing after violating a traffic signal and colliding with a taxi tested positive for drugs.
Incheon Jungbu Police Station announced on the 4th that they plan to request an arrest warrant for Mr. A on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
Mr. A was arrested by the police on suspicion of aiding Mr. B (49), the driver who fled after ignoring a stop signal and crashing into a taxi coming from the opposite direction at Songnim Five-way Intersection in Songnim-dong, Dong-gu, Incheon, on the 2nd.
As a result of the accident, Mr. B and taxi driver Mr. C (54) were injured and transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment.
When Mr. A was arrested, white powder suspected to be drugs and syringes were found in his pockets, and the National Forensic Service was requested to verify them.
Mr. A tested positive for drugs in a preliminary test on the 3rd.
