[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The government will introduce a self-quarantine app starting from the 7th to manage approximately 14,500 individuals under self-quarantine due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Park Jong-hyun, Safety Communication Officer at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, stated at a regular briefing held at the Government Sejong Complex on the 4th, "As the number of self-quarantined individuals has surged, we developed a self-quarantine app to make the quarantine process more efficient."
The app will first be introduced in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, where about 90% of all cases have occurred. The government initially planned to implement it from the 9th, but moved the introduction date forward by two days due to the rapid increase in cases.
