View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea increased by 516, bringing the total to 5,328.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight, 516 new COVID-19 cases were reported compared to 4 p.m. the previous day. The number of additional cases overnight in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions totaled 494, accounting for approximately 95.7% of all new cases.
By region, Daegu reported the highest number with 405 cases, followed by Gyeongbuk (89), Gyeonggi (7), Busan (3), Ulsan (3), Incheon (2), Gwangju (2), Daejeon (1), Seoul (1), Gangwon (1), Chungnam (1), and Gyeongnam (1).

The death toll increased by 4 from the previous day, reaching 32. The number of patients who have recovered and been released from quarantine rose by 7 to 41.
