[Breaking] Supplementary Budget of 11.7 Trillion Won Formulated... 2 Trillion Won in 'Consumption Coupons' for Vulnerable Groups
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The government has prepared an additional supplementary budget amounting to 11.7 trillion won to minimize the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and to achieve an early recovery.
On the 4th, the government held an extraordinary Cabinet meeting and confirmed the supplementary budget plan containing these details.

The supplementary budget allocates 2.3 trillion won for strengthening and advancing the quarantine system, including infectious disease inspection, diagnosis, and treatment; 2.4 trillion won to support the recovery of small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners affected by COVID-19; 3 trillion won for livelihood and employment stabilization to achieve early COVID-19 recovery; and 800 billion won to support the recovery of the depressed regional economy. In particular, approximately 2 trillion won worth of coupons will be distributed to 5.2 million vulnerable groups affected by COVID-19, including low-income households, children, and the elderly.
