New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced on the 3rd (local time) that "a New York State resident with a respiratory illness was diagnosed with COVID-19 at a New York City hospital."
New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo also held a press conference and stated that the patient is a 50-year-old male lawyer working in Westchester County, a suburb of New York, who has not traveled abroad.
