[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Jang Hwan-jin, former Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the People's Party Founding Preparation Committee and a recent member of the United Future Party as an 'Ahn Cheol-soo faction' figure, declared his candidacy for Dongjak-gu Gap on the 2nd.
Former Vice Chairman Jang stated, "As in the past, I will nurture hope together with the residents of Dongjak, where my heart points, sharing joys and hardships," expressing his intention to run.
He said, "The main purpose of the general election is for the opposition to unite their strength to put a brake on the ruling party's government, which holds absolute power, and to judge the responsibility for the collapse of the economy and people's livelihood," adding, "I will run as a candidate of the centrist-conservative big tent United Future Party to judge the Moon Jae-in administration and lead the development of Dongjak."
