The Democratic Party's nomination management committee announced that, based on the results of the third primary held from the 27th to the 29th using an automatic response system (ARS) with 50% party members' votes and 50% public opinion survey, Kim Hoejae was confirmed as the nominee.
Jeonnam Yeosu Eul, which had shown signs of overheating and caused concerns, ultimately saw candidate Kim Hoejae defeat candidate Jeong Gi-myeong to become the Democratic Party candidate for the 21st general election.
