'No Sawi' Gwak Sang-eon Passes Primary... Democratic Party Announces 3rd Primary Results
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Lawyer Gwak Sang-eon, son-in-law of the late former President Roh Moo-hyun, has passed the Democratic Party's April 15 general election primary. Former Blue House Political Secretary Han Byung-do also secured the nomination, continuing the strong presence of former Blue House officials in the Democratic Party's third primary round.
The Democratic Party Election Commission announced the results of the third primary round for 11 constituencies on the afternoon of the 29th, including these outcomes.
First, Lawyer Gwak defeated former Korea Regional Self-Sufficiency Center Association Chairman Seong Nak-hyun to be finalized as the candidate for Boeun, Okcheon, Yeongdong, and Goesan in North Chungcheong Province. In Mokpo, South Jeolla Province, Kim Won-i, former Seoul City Political Deputy Mayor, defeated former South Jeolla Political Deputy Governor Woo Ki-jong to advance to the main election.
The strong performance of former Blue House officials continued from the previous day. Former Secretary Han defeated former Iksan Police Chief Kim Seong-jung to secure the nomination for Iksan, North Jeolla Province, and former Blue House Agriculture and Fisheries Secretary Choi Jae-gwan was confirmed as the candidate for Yeoju-Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province.

In the Gangwon Donghae-Samcheok primary, Kim Myung-gi, former Policy Advisor to the Minister of National Defense, and in South Jeolla Haenam-Wando-Jindo, Yoon Jae-gap, Special Committee Member for Public Communication at the National Balanced Development Committee, each defeated their competitors to earn tickets to the main election.
In Gyeongsangbuk-do Gyeongsan, Jeon Sang-heon, former spokesperson for the National Balanced Development Committee and close aide to former Gangwon Governor Lee Kwang-jae, passed the primary, and in Gumi Gap, former regional committee chairman Kim Cheol-ho advanced to the main election.
