Embedded Animal Registration for Pets Becomes Possible with 10,000 Won
Reducing Costs by 50,000 to 70,000 Won
Available at Over 600 Animal Hospitals
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Seoul City will support the implantation of microchip animal registration for companion dogs for only 10,000 KRW.
Seoul City, together with the General Insurance Social Contribution Council and the Seoul Veterinary Medical Association, will provide microchip animal registration for 40,000 animals on a first-come, first-served basis until the end of this year.
The typical cost for microchip animal registration implantation ranges from 50,000 to 70,000 KRW. Through animal registration, a unique 15-digit identification number is assigned, which is used to manage owner information and special notes about the companion animal in the Animal Protection Management System.
According to the Animal Protection Act, starting from the 21st, due to amendments in the law, animal registration for companion dogs will be mandatory from 2 months of age. Failure to comply will result in a fine of up to 1,000,000 KRW.
